[2010 CRUISE] | [ HOME ] | [ CRUISE HOME ]

The islands were part of Norway in 1035 and then re-formed in 1380 when Norway was absorbed into the Kingdom of Denmark. The name Torshavn means Thor's Harbor. Torshavn is the heart of the fishing industry, commerce, transport and tade in the islands. The standard of living is high in the Faroe Islands and technologically advanced with almost every household owning a computer.
